Saturday's First North action review

Leaders Lancaster City were held to a 1-1 draw by second-bottom Goole AFC at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds where Jordan Connerton`s 67th minute penalty for the Dolly Blues was cancelled out by Billy Law eight minutes later.

Second-placed Ossett Town shared home spoils with mid-table Ramsbottom United, whose Adam Kay levelled Alex Peterson`s 29th minute opener from the spot just shy of the hour-mark.

Third-placed Trafford were also held 1-1 at Parkside by another mid-table outfit, Kendal Town, whose Danny Forbes replied to Ashley Woods` 18th minute opener in the 32nd minute.

Scarborough Athletic dropped to fifth after becoming bottom side Burscough`s only third victim of the season to date, courtesy of an early second minute Anthony Shinks effort.

Glossop moved into fourth after beating third-bottom Prescot Cables 3-1 at home, with Mike Norton`s 25th minute opener being followed by a brace from top scorer Jamie Rainford in the 43rd and 54th minute – Dominic Marie replying 19 minutes from time.

Sixth-placed Farsley Celtic took full advantage of the slip-ups above them by hammering Radcliffe Borough 5-0 on their own Stainton Park patch.

It was experienced striker James Walshaw`s day, hitting four of the goals in the fifth, 29th, 42nd from the spot and 79th minutes, with Richard Marshall adding the fifth with four minutes to go.

Clitheroe are level on points with Farsley after beating Hyde United 2-1 at Shawbridge.

In front of a good crowd of 414, all the goals came in a five minute spell midway through the half, with Charlie Russell giving the Blues the lead, Phattharaphol Khamsuk equalising and then George West winning it for the hosts.

Brighouse Town missed the chance to join Farsley and Clitheroe on forty-two points when they were held to a 1-1 draw at Irongate by Bamber Bridge, Jamie Milligan`s 68th minute spot-kick cancelling out Jamie Pollard`s early sixth minute opener.

Elsewhere, Michael Fish helped himself to a hat-trick as Mossley AFC won 4-0 at Colwyn Bay.

It was not a good way for Phil Hadland to celebrate being handed the permanent Bay managerial post as Fish completed his hat-trick by the 48th minute, with Darryhl Mason sandwiching the other.

Goals in the final 15 minutes from Dominic Smith and Liam Caddick earned Droylsden a 2-1 verdict at the Butcher`s Arms against fourth-bottom Ossett Albion, whose Tom Guest netted a last-gasp consolation.

Colne won 2-1 at Tadcaster Albion, taking the lead five minutes before the break through Simon Nangle and then winning it through Oliver Wood on 68 minutes – four minutes after Carl Stewart had equalised for Taddy.
