However, the battling Yeltz held the high-flying Barnsley outfit to a goalless draw at The Grove to leave the visitors in fourth place.
Farsley Celtic are sixth but amazingly came up with a third successive 3-3 league draw!
Liam Hardy put hosts Buxton ahead as early as the fourth minute from a corner before the Celts levelled on the quarter-hour mark when Paul Walker was fouled in the box and Ryan Watson fired in the equaliser from the penalty spot.
However, Buxton went ahead eight minutes before the break with a penalty of their own, Hardy stepping up and slotting home to put the Bucks 2-1 up at the break. On 70 minutes Farsley were level once again, as James Walshaw made it 2-2.
But just 10 minutes later, Buxton regained the lead for the third time in the afternoon, as Anthony Wilson scored to make it 3-2. Celtic got their point in the dying minutes as a Danny Ellis flick-on was slammed home by sub Adam Priestley.
Mickleover Sports are eighth after a 2-0 home win over bottom-markers Sutton Coldfield Town.
Andy Dales gave the home side a 13th minute lead. And former Burton Albion defender Pablo Mills popped up with the second 10 minutes into the second half.
Due to their cup exploits, Nantwich Town have games in hand and have dropped down the table.
But a good 3-0 win at Causeway Lane against Matlock Town pushed them up to twentieth. David Forbes bagged a brace for the Dabbers in the 50th and 82nd minutes after Harry Clayton had given them a 7th minute lead.
