Saul answers Gladiators’ call

Matlock Town have added another new face to their squad ahead of Tuesday night’s Derbyshire Senior Cup clash with Buxton.

Defensive midfielder Saul Milovanovic has signed on the dotted line, now international clearance has been confirmed following his spell playing in New Zealand for Miramar Rangers.

The 22-year-old began his career at Huddersfield Town playing in the Terriers’ U18s before he moved to Norwich City and was in the Canaries’ U21s squad.

His non-league career started when he joined National League North Kettering Town in December 2021, prior to his move to New Zealand.

Gladiators boss Craig Elliott says Milovanovic’s distribution skills should add extra quality to the squad.

“Saul’s a player I had on trial at Boston United a few years ago,” he said.

“Technically he’s a very good passer of the ball, and after a spell in New Zealand I’m hoping he can show his quality for us.”
