The 32-year-old is a highly regarded player who has amassed Northern Premier League game time with a number of clubs, including Warrington Town, Stalybridge Celic and Atherton Collieries.
His arrival at Shawbridge is a real coup for Clitheroe as they look to add a mixture of youth and experience to their 2023/24 squad.
Sephton joins forward Domaine Rouse and midfielder Ethan Kershaw in joining the club ahead of the new Pitching In NPL West Division campaign.
Manager Dave Dempsey said: "He is a player that can play in a multitude of positions - comfortable centre half, comfortable central midfielder, vastly experienced and a very good footballer.
"He is very good on the ball, he is physical, he communicates very well.
"I have known him for quite a while and have tried to land him a few times at previous clubs, but he has always been playing a lot higher. I previously have not had the facilities nor opportunity to offer him a deal that would tempt him that he would take.
"I'm very excited to bring him in to the club. He's a really good lad as well, so in terms of gelling with the group he'll do just that."
