Seadogs chairman passes away

EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Scarborough Athletic are mourning the passing of chairman Dave Holland.

Holland, pictured with manager Steve Kittrick on his appointment in January 2016, passed away on Tuesday afternoon aged 59 after being admitted to hospital on Monday night and placed in intensive care.

In a short statement on their website, the club said: "It is with a heavy heart that the board has to announce our chairman David Holland passed away this afternoon.

"Please respect Wendy and the families' privacy at this very difficult, further details will be released as and when appropriate."

The popular Seadogs chairman first began supporting the former Scarborough FC as an eight-year-old in the 1960s before helping to reform the club with fellow supporters when the old club was wound up in 2007.
