Second accolade is perfectly timed

Evo-Stik NPL Club of the Month Awards

With the club on course to mount another promotion bid, Ramsbottom United are hardly in need of a confidence boost but they’re enjoying one anyway after collecting their second Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Club of the Month Award.

The Rams – up to fifth in the First Division North table - became only the second club this season to double up in the monthly performance awards along with the top flight’s Chorley when they were named alongside Chasetown and Blyth Spartans as January’s latest winners of the accolade.

The Evo-Stik NPL’s Respect Manager Phil Bradley is pictured with Dale Poulton from sponsors Bostik Ltd presenting joint manager Anthony Johnson with an inscribed certificate and giant 4.5 litre bottle of Bells Whiskey to celebrate their achievement before their 2-0 win over Ossett Albion at The Harry Williams Riverside Stadium last Tuesday night.

Johnson and joint manager Bernard Morley guided the Rams to four wins from four in the league last month to win the award for a second time after first taking the honour in October. Their results this time around included an 8-0 victory over Radcliffe Borough.

Premier Division winners Spartans were presented with their first Evo-Stik NPL Club of the Month award of the campaign at Croft Park on Saturday before their 4-2 win over Witton Albion, League Operations Manager Alan Allcock making the presentation.

Weather permitting, Chasetown will collect their first award on Tuesday night from League Director Andrew Wain and a representative from Bostik, the parent company of title-sponsors Evo-Stik, when they host Leek Town.
