Ciaran Kilheeney continued his rich goal-scoring form with a crucial second half winner to help Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division North leaders Warrington Town defeat mid-table Kendal Town 2-1, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

A hat-trick hero at Padiham last weekend, Kilheeney made it six goals in three games, bundling home from David Mannix's low corner five minutes into the second half. Earlier, Maison McGeechan had cancelled out Aaron Bowen's 12th minute opener for Town, who once again move three points clear at the top of the table.

With Darlington 1883's home game with Curzon Ashton falling foul of the weather, Farsley AFC took advantage to move into second spot after extending their unbeaten run to sixteen games with a thirteenth win in that run at Irongate against sixth-placed Bamber Bridge.

A close, hard-fought encounter in difficult conditions was eventually separated by Robbie O`Brien`s 67th minute effort for the Yorkshire visitors.

Ramsbottom United moved above Brig into the top five after a good 3-1 win at the Giant Axe against fellow play-off contenders Lancaster City.

Lee Gaskell scored the only goal of the opening half five minutes before the break to give Rammy an interval lead. Jordan Connerton equalised just before the hour-mark, only for Phil Dean to restore the visitors` advantage on 72 minutes. And Dean`s second of the game in stoppage time ensured the points went to the away side.

Cammell Laird edged the derby at Burscough by the odd goal in five.

Lairds got off to a great start when Craig Cairns put them in front after just five minutes. Three minutes ahead of the half-time whistle James Short equalised and then three minutes after the break Jordan Williams put the Linnets ahead. Richard Foulkes pulled Lairds back on terms on 63 minutes and then Cairns won it with his second with less than three minutes to go.

Radcliffe Borough moved out of the bottom two after a comprehensive 4-0 Stainton Park victory over fellow strugglers New Mills.

With the conditions in their favour, Boro raced into a 3-0 lead with goals from Chris Thompson after 11 minutes, Danny White on 23 and Simon Carden on 38 minutes. The Millers were unable to respond, leaving Bevan Burey to add a fourth for the home side 13 minutes from time.

Bottom-markers Ossett Albion lost 2-3 at Seel Park against Mossley AFC after leading 2-1 at half-time, the result leaving them nine points adrift from the safety-mark.

Brian Matthews gave the Lilywhites a 22nd minute lead that Adam Muller and David Brown turned over in quick succession – Brown`s effort coming from the spot. But Matthews again on the hour-mark and Richard Bennett on 73 minutes turned the game back in Mossley`s favour.
