Selfie heaven as stars play ball ...

By David Watters

The Shawe View home of EVO-STIK League Trafford went into selfie meltdown on Sunday during a family fun day and friendly against a TV All Stars XI.

As well as cheering on a Trafford side including fans who'd bid to play in an auction, more than 500 supporters saw one lucky fan win two return tickets in a prize draw to anywhere in Europe courtesy of sponsors Jet2Holidays.

Sarah Pickles from Urmston is pictured being presented with her prize at half-time at the Shawe View First Point Stadium by the skipper of the TV All Stars XI, actor Andrew Whyment, known to millions as Coronation Street's Kirk Sutherland.

The EVO-STIK League North club's officials used the club's official Twitter account this week to thank the fans who turned out in force on Sunday and the line-up of TV and soap stars from Corrie, Emmerdale and elsewhere including Whyment, Dean Fagan and Alan Halsall from the former and Joe Gill and Adam Thomas from the latter. Others included Chris Perry-Metcalf of Grange Hill fame and Footballers' Wives and Hollyoaks star Kent Riley.
