South Shields defender makes National League move

South Shields have confirmed the departure of defender Jack Bodenham to National League North side Blyth Spartans.

The 22 year-old defender joins the Spartans on a one-month loan.

Bodenham had made 46 appearances last season for South Shields and will be looking to put his experience into use during his short spell, playing under his former manager Graham Fenton.

The youngster could replace defender Toby Lees as he is currently out of rotation due to injury.

South Shields are currently sitting top of the table with an away trip to Lancaster City tomorrow, a side with only one win in their opening six matches this season.
