Sparks to fly at Unicorns

Ossett Albion

Sparks will be flying at Ossett Albion on Friday night when the Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club hold their Annual Community Bonfire.

The fireworks party is sure to be one of the safest in the country too after the Unicorns teamed up with firefighters from Ossett Fire Station for the second year running to host the community event.

Albion have held a bonfire at Dimple Wells for a number of years now. Despite horrendous weather last year, more than 1,000 people attended the inaugural event with local firefighters who put on a spectacular fireworks display.

Friday night’s fun starts from 6.30pm with the fireworks display kicking off from 7.30pm. Organisers say the firefighters will be manning a stall boasting a number of fire safety based souvenirs. Other attractions will include a tombola, hot and cold food stands plus candyfloss and hook-a-duck for the younger children.

Tickets are priced at £3 for adults and £2 for children and are now on sale at Ossett Fire Station and Ossett Cricket Club. They can also be purchased all day Friday at Albion’s Warehouse Systems Stadium.

Proceeds will be split between the football club and charities nominated by the Fire Brigade.
