Spartans seek TV talent

Blyth Spartans

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Blyth Spartans are looking for a new matchday camera operator to help beam their action to Spartans exiles across the world.

The Premier Division club say their new filmmaker's duties will include capturing the action from all their home games – and where possible away fixtures - before editing footage into match highlights and uploading the finished package onto their new online TV station - BSAFCTV.

The role will also involve working with Blyth's Visual Media Officer Glen Maxwell to ensure all footage is consistent with the rest of BSAFCTV’s output.

Maxwell said: "We did have someone lined up already but, unfortunately, they are now unable to take this role on. They ticked all the right boxes, so it's disappointing that they can no longer do it. That said, I'd like to thank them for giving us plenty of time to find a replacement and it now opens the door for someone else to come in."

Maxwell says that, ideally, the successful applicant will have their own video camera and access to editing equipment – as these cannot be provided by the club. He also believes the voluntary role offers a fantastic opportunity to the successful candidate to expand their media portfolio.

He added: "This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person. BSAFCTV is still very much in its infancy, but the Match Day Camera Operator will play a big part in the coverage of next season.

"Luckily, we have enough time to get the right person in. If necessary, we can use the pre-season to iron out the finer details and that will allow us to hit the ground running when the season starts."

To apply, e-mail: BSAFCTV@gmail.com and include any links to previous video work if applicable.
