Sponsor buys into Yeltz

Halesowen Town have announced that fan and major sponsor Mike Burke has taken a ten per cent stakeholding in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League outfit.

Burke, a loyal Halesowen Town supporter since 1980 and owner of the Evo-Stik NPL First Division South outfit’s main sponsors, The Big Pet Store, paid an undisclosed sum for his stake this week.

Burke became a member of the club’s Management Committee soon after his company became the main sponsor at the Yeltz last season. He took over as the club’s Commercial Manager soon afterwards and has since brought in a number of sponsorship deals to help raise much needed finance.

Burke, who has seen Halesowen go through many ups and downs in recent years including financial struggles and a battle to survive, hopes he’s stepped up at the perfect time to help the Yeltz continue to move forward on and off the pitch.

He said: "It is a great honour to be co-owner of the club I have loved for so many years. With the management committee and volunteers working hard behind the scenes and the players and management working hard on the pitch, it is the perfect time to move the club forward and I am excited to be a part of it."
