Sports land Hughes

Veteran striker Lee Hughes made his debut for Mickleover Sports against Warrington Town at the weekend.

Hughes, 43, joined Sports ahead of the registration deadline on Saturday, having spent the past couple of seasons at Halesowen Town.

A former Premier League striker, Hughes has been a regular goalscorer throughout his career, turning out for West Brom, Coventry, Kidderminster, Oldham and Notts County amongst others.

He started alongside new loan signing Declan Bacon, but couldn’t help his new side avoid a 1-0 defeat to the Yellows on Saturday.
