Staff makes steady progress

Stamford AFC

Stamford AFC have signed two more players as they prepare to return to the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's top flight.

Shawn Richards, who scored the final goal at Belper Town in last season's play-off semi-final, has become the latest player to re-sign for the Daniels who went on to win promotion to the Premier Division via the First Division South Play-off Final.

Daniels manager David Staff has been making steady progress rebuilding the squad he inherited from former manager Wayne Hatswell and also boosted his defensive options at Kettering Road on Monday by bringing in defender Ryan Walker from Gresley.

Walker joined Gresley in November 2012 from East Midlands Counties Leaguers Thurnby Nirvana.
