Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Ossett Albion are mourning the loss of Unicorns stalwart Keith Fletcher.

The long-standing member of the First Division North club’s Committee, pictured, passed away suddenly on Friday aged 68, leaving a wife Christine, a daughter Lisa and two grandchildren.

Albion held a minute’s silence before kicking off in their 0-0 draw at home to Northwich Victoria on Saturday and Chairman Stephen Hanks said: "Everyone at Ossett Albion was saddened to hear of the sudden death of long standing Committee member Keith Fletcher on Friday. I was stunned when I heard the news.

"I have known Keith for many years and he was an extremely popular member of the club. He was well liked and respected by everyone and will be sadly missed.

"Keith has done a tremendous amount of work for Ossett Albion over the years and will be remembered with great fondness by everyone connected with the club. Our thoughts go out to Keith's wife Christine and all her family at this very sad time."

Unicorns officials say they will announce the funeral arrangements when known.
