Statistician flags up club milestones

By David Watters

The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's official statistician and historian Dominic McKenzie is looking forward to recording a series of six club milestones over the coming weeks.

Appointed this year to keep a full statistical record for the EVO-STIK NPL's 68 clubs, the statistician and historian says six clubs in the top flight alone are on the brink of reaching significant milestones in his first update of the 2016-17 season.

Matlock Town, with only six points so far this season, are just 14 short of notching up 2000 in the EVO-STIK NPL's Premier Division. Only Marine on 2367 have collected more while Ashton United, currently on 12 points, need just one more to hit the 800 point mark.

Frickley Athletic only need seven more points to reach a respectable 1700, an early target for new manager Lee Morris to set his pointless bottom-markers.

McKenzie, who prepared many of the pages recording last term's action for this season's new EVO-STIK League handbook, says three other clubs are also closing in on key milestones - Nantwich Town looking for another 23 to get to the 500 mark and Mickleover Sports and Stourbridge who just need three and fours points respectively to make it a round 150 points each.
