By James Gordon

Pitching In NPL East Division leaders Worksop Town responded to losing their 19-game winning run last weekend by thrashing Long Eaton United 7-1 on Saturday.

Liam Hughes scored an 18-minute hat-trick in the first half, with further Tigers goals coming from Liam Hardy (2), Aleksandrs Starcenko and Tavonga Kuleya.

The result sees them extend their lead at top of the table to 17 points.

Elsewhere in the NPL East Division, second-placed Stockton Town let slip an early two-goal lead to lose a five-goal thriller at home to Pontefract Collieries.

Goals from Jack Vann, Gavin Rothery and Jack Shepherd saw Colls turn the match around in the second half and climb up to seventh in the table, four points adrift of the play-off places.

In the NPL Midlands Division, promotion-chasing Sporting Khalsa were held to a goalless draw at home to Bedworth United.

Meanwhile, Sutton Coldfield Town and Loughborough Dynamo played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at Coles Lane.
