Recap the latest action from Step 4 of the Northern Premier League…

In the Pitching In NPL East Division, Worksop Town extended their lead to 20 points at the top of the table with an emphatic 6-0 victory over Shildon.

The hosts breezed past their opposition with goals from Tavonga Kuleya (2), Hamza Bencherif (2), Aleksandrs Starcenko and Liam Hughes, the latter taking his tally to 32 goals for the season.

Three of the four teams in the chasing pack picked up wins this weekend with Hebburn Town, Stocksbridge Park Steels and Long Eaton United all claiming three points.

Most suprisingly, second placed Stockton Town were held to a 1-1 draw away to Gratham Town who sit in 17th.

In the NPL West Division, Macclesfield further extended their lead at the top of the table to nine points with a 1-0 win away at Workington.

Alex Curran was on target for his 15th goal of the season as the Silkmen edged out their opponents who remain in third place.

Following their draw last weekend, second-placed Leek Town fell to a 3-1 defeat on the road at Trafford, Mike Burke's penalty and Max Hazeldine's brace canclled out Tim Grice's finish before half-time.

Runcorn Linnets' 1-0 win at 1874 Northwich moved them level on points with Clitheroe after they suffered a 2-0 defeat away at City of Liverpool.

Widnes capitalised on their win last weekend with a 1-0 victory at home to Hanley Town. They now sit just one point away from safety.

In the NPL Midlands Division, the race for the top spot showed no signs of slowing down.

Current league leaders Halesowen Town bounced back from last weekend's defeat, putting lowly Daventry Town to the sword in a 4-0 victory.

However, still hot on their heels are Stamford who ran out a 2-0 win over Loughborough Dynamo at the Zeeco Stadium.

Jonathan Margetts regained his position as the league's top goalscorer with a brace to keep his side level at the top with the Yeltz.

Meanwhile, Coleshill continued their quest to push for a place in the play-offs after holding off Hinckley in a 2-1 win at home, while Sporting Khalsa, who sit in fifth place, were forced to fight back to claim a point in a 1-1 draw at Cambridge City.
