Recap the latest action from Step 4 of the Northern Premier League…

In the NPL East division, Stockton Town moved into a play-off spot as a 4-1 away win at Ashington was enough to see the Anchors move to fifth in the table.

Elliott Beddow, Michael Sweet and Kevin Hayes all scored their third goal of the season, with Tom Coulthard completing the scoring for the visitors in the 90th minute before a stoppage-time consolation from Wilson Kneeshaw.

Ossett United’s trip to Consett saw the visitors snatch three points on the road after some late drama.

TJ Ibrahim had his 86th minute goal cancelled out when Scott Fenwick equalised for the home side in the 90th minute, but Janni Lipka was able to secure the three points with a thumping effort before the final whistle blew.

Elsewhere, goals from Harvey Tomlinson, Jack Richardson, Edwin Essel and Bailey Adamson helped Grimsby Borough to a 4-0 win at home to Sheffield, moving them up to eighth in the division.

The battle between two of the early-season high-flyers saw the points shared as Pontefract Collieries drew 1-1 at home to Dunston.

In the NPL Midlands division, there was a first defeat of the season for league leaders Spalding United, who were beaten 3-1 at Loughborough Dynamo.

Dynamo move up to third following the three points.

Sutton Coldfield Town managed to put some much needed points on the table with a somewhat unexpected away win at second-placed Bedworth United.

Meanwhile, an all-important second half goal from Khristopher Oti was enough to see Corby Town win 1-0 away at Coventry Sphinx.

In the NPL West division, league leaders Kidsgrove Athletic suffered their first league defeat of the campaign, with a Daniel Cockerline double handing Newcastle Town a stunning 2-1 away from home.

Four different names were on the scoresheet for Prescot Cables during their 4-1 win over Witton Albion, as James Foley, Alex McNally, Jack Goodwin and Sam O’Halleron ensured Pusky Bulls fans went home happy.

There were nine goals scored at Shawbridge as Clitheroe beat Mossley 6-3, and a Rob Stevenson hat-trick helped Leek Town to a convincing 5-1 win at Stalybridge Celtic.
