Striking recruits are double boost for Woodhouse

Goole AFC manager Curtis Woodhouse gave a home debut to new Vikings striker Zephaniah Thomas in Saturday's 2-0 EVO-STIK League victory over Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Woodhouse moved to strengthen his attacking options by securing the services of the 24-year-old Thomas ahead of the weekend's action. He is also looking forward to calling on the services of another forward after the First Division South club confirmed that international clearance has come through for Bradley Grayson.

Thomas, pictured, is well known to the Vikings manager after scoring for him last season when he was guiding Sheffield FC and has joined an ever-growing number of former Club recruits at the Victoria Pleasure Grounds. After starting the season in the EVO-STIK League's top flight at Matlock Town, he signed for Woodhouse again after returning from international duty with St Kitts & Nevis after scored twice in three games on international duty.

Thomas kicked off his career at Rotherham United as a youth player before enjoying spells at Garden City Broncbusters in the United States, Montgnee in Belgium, Cowdenbeath in Scotland and later in the US again at Thunder Bay Chill. He scored 13 goals for Sheffield last term before moving to Mickleover Sports where he notched a further five goals to finish the season with 18 goals in First Division South.

Grayson, 21, had featured for the club in pre-season and is now available after returning to the UK from Australia where he was with Cumberland United. Having started out at Doncaster Rovers, spells at Matlock Town, Frickley Athletic and Swedish outfit Ange IF followed before his move down under.
