Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Warrington Town have won a civic seal of approval for a summer makeover at Cantilever Park.

Mayor of Warrington, Councillor Peter Carey, officially opened the Wire's new Urban Buildings Project Legends' Lounge before their opening game of the First Division North campaign against Lancaster City.

Warrington's Mayor is pictured alongside Director of Football Toby Macormac, Urban Buildings Project’s MD Carl Palmer, Warrington Town Chairman Gary Skentelbery, Chief Executive Richard Sutton and former Warrington Wolves’ winger Mark Forster.

The sponsors' lounge was given a complete makeover by Palmer and his team from the Warrington-based construction company over the summer with Forster involved in the joinery work.

As well as sponsoring the lounge, the firm carried out the re-fit at no cost to the club which recently unveiled its 2020 vision to reach the Football League by the end of the decade. Warrington's Chairman thanked Palmer and his team on Friday for helping them to continue building for the future.

Skentelbery said: "Thanks to Carl and his team we have a sponsors' lounge we can be truly proud of. It has enhanced the match day experience for our club sponsors who are vitally important for our future success."

Palmer added: "We are delighted to be able to support our local football team and wish them every success on their journey."

* Warrington's officials have donated £500 to Malcolm Kindon from St Rocco's Hospice following the success of their Emmerdale Celebrity XI charity match earlier this year. The event also helped raise funds for the club's on-going community development programme.
