Sunday's Premier Division action review

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League

Managerless Eastwood Town suffered their fifth successive reverse in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Premier Division on Sunday after going down to a 4-1 defeat to FC United of Manchester at Gigg Lane, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Another terrific crowd of 1,692 saw Michael Norton give FC United a 16th minute lead that Adam Jones doubled three minutes later.

And when Norton made it 3-0 with only 28 minutes gone, Badgers supporters must have feared for a real drubbing.

Dean Stott then added a fourth from the penalty spot from minutes before half-time. However, the feared-for hammering never really occurred, and in fact Eastwood 'won' the second half after Alex Troke's effort two minutes after the break proved to be the only goal.

FC United's win takes them into ninth spot, while the Badgers remain third-bottom, just a point in front of Stocksbridge Park Steels and Ilkeston FC.
