Now a television and radio pundit, the 44-year-old, pictured, is getting ready to be the guest speaker at the EVO-STIK League South club's next Sportsmen's Evening at Harrison Park on Friday 1 December.
The highlight of the Match of the Day and Sky Sports pundit's career came in 1994 when he became the most expensive player in British football following his switch from Norwich to Blackburn to form the feared 'SAS' partnership with England striker Alan Shearer.
The pair scored 49 goals between them the following season as Blackburn famously lifted the Premier League trophy. At Glasgow Celtic, Sutton formed an even deadlier partnership with Sweden's Henrik Larsson, going on to win seven major trophies and reach a UEFA Cup Final.
A Blues spokesman said: "Never one to shy away from controversy, the evening should be full of interesting tales from the world of the top-flight game. There will be full support from comedian Austin Knight and a Christmas themed meal as well."
Tickets for the event are priced at £25. For more information and to reserve or purchase tickets, email: leektown@hotmail.com.
