Tamesiders launch latest apprenticeships

Well-received scheme to continue.

Ashton United Football Club set to launch their latest Apprenticeship Scheme program.

The scheme has been greatly received over recent years and has seen a number of young footballers graduate into the first team plans of Ashton United Football Club manager Danny Johnson. Danny has been instrumental in the development of the programme and is excited at seeing further talent progress.

The manager says ‘It has been a pleasure to work with so many quality young footballers many of whom have progressed into my first team and development squad as well as playing at a higher level of non-league football. We are giving young people a real opportunity to develop as footballers and

coaches as well as providing them with real life skills. This is a great opportunity for any local 16-18 year old to become part of a football club that is going places. The board of Directors are now working closely at community projects and the apprenticeship programme is an integral part of the club moving forward. Our 1st team captain Danny Caldecott, Terry Smith and Kyle Harrop are all involved with the programme full time and pass on their knowledge and experience to the youngsters.’
