Taxi to sponsor Spartans!

By David Watters

If their coach ever breaks down, EVO-STIK Northern Premier League Blyth Spartans shouldn't have a problem finding a fleet of cabs to ferry them to a fixture after unveiling Phoenix Taxis as the club's new partners and sponsors of their online TV channel.

BSAFCTV, the club's official YouTube channel, has been a major hit with supporters since it was launched at Croft Park in 2012 and has now been viewed in over 85 different countries around the world.

Since the season got underway, the Phoenix logo and advert has been proudly displayed on the channel which shows match highlights and features from Spartans.

As part of the year long deal signed before the new season kicked off last weekend, the Blyth-based firm has become the Premier Division club's official transport partner.

Phoenix Taxis say they delighted to continue their commitment to investing in the local community by working with the Spartans.

Phoenix Taxis' managing director Alex Hurst said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be supporting Blyth Spartans Association Football Club.

"As a Northumberland-based business, operating from Blyth, supporting local activities and people in our community is very important to us.

"And, as a lifelong football fan, I fully support and believe in the fantastic work the club does, and their sporting achievements so far have been remarkable.”

Blyth Spartans' senior press officer Mark Carruthers said: “It is great to have a local company like Phoenix Taxis supporting Blyth Spartans. We hope this can be the start of a long-running partnership between the two parties and that BSAFCTV can go from strength-to-strength thanks to their support.”
