Officials at Harrison Park reckon they've taken the headache out of Christmas shopping by teaming up with a local brewery and a café and micro-pub to produce a special three-pack of ales as an ideal gift for the festive season.
Brewed by Chesterton-based Weal Ales and specially packaged with the help of Spout Brew House to go on sale from Saturday, the EVO-STIK League South club's £10 beer hamper features Wealy Hopper, a pale ale, golden ale Sqweal and a special Leek Town Winter Porter.
Leek Town chairman Jon Eeles said: “We are trying to do a lot more promotions with local businesses and it’s great that Weal Ales and the Spout Brew House have been so supportive in getting this beer package together.
“A special thank you also to club supporter, Dave Swarbrook, who has given his time and effort in coordinating the offer and taking orders for 20 packs prior to it going on sale!”
Andrea Wealleans, director of Weal Ales, said: “We were really excited about this project. There has always been a connection between football and good beer and we are delighted to be involved with such a great community based club as Leek Town FC.”
The beers can be ordered from Leek Town Social Club or purchased at the Spout Brew House and owner Dave Wilson added: “Customers have already shown interest in this special package. It’s a terrific way to enjoy superb beer whilst supporting your local football team.”
