Thieves strike while Magpies away

Chorley had more to worry about than defeat in the Lancashire FA Trophy at Kendal on Tuesday night after thieves raided Victory Park.

Gary Flitcroft's Magpies lost 2-1 at Kendal and it emerged on Wednesday that while they were travelling the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division club's main stand was being broken into and ransacked.

Four televisions, playing kit and alcohol was stolen by the thieves who also left several doors badly damaged.

A Chorley spokesman urged the public to help catch the thieves. He added: "If anyone can help identify the perpetrators please contact Chorley Police on 01257 629021 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
