Doyle, 24, played for FC United in pre-season against Chorley and Chester, scoring against the latter.
He signed his first professional contract with Morecambe, and made his debut for them at the age of 17.
Formerly with Everton academy, Doyle played 26 times on loan at Chorley but was released by Morecambe in May 2016 and joined Southport.
Unfortunately, he suffered a serious knee injury and spent time out of the game, before being lured back into football last summer by hometown club Marine.
He made 37 appearances for Marine, scoring six goals, and follows team-mates James Joyce and Craig Carney in swapping Crosby for Broadhurst Park.
