Third show in a week released!

By David Watters

GroundHop TV's Alex McKenna is the star guest on the latest edition of the EVO-STIK NPL Show Extra.

McKenna and the NPL Facebook Group's James Heyes preview the weekend's fixtures as well as looking back on the news and action over the last seven days on the weekly podcast, released for download on Friday.

Ahead of Gavin Strachan's switch from Ilkeston to Doncaster Rovers to be reunited with Darren Ferguson as his number two, host Ben Hughes was also joined by sports writer Mark Duffy from the Ilkeston Advertiser.

Stourbridge's exploits in the FA Cup are also covered after Black Country Radio's Adam Parkes also joined Hughes on Thursday to record the show at the Magnet Inn in Stockport.

The EVO-STIK NPL Show Extra is a spin-off of the monthly EVO-STIK NPL Show which returned for its third successive season in August. Since last weekend, fans, players and officials have been enjoying September's edition, the second hour long podcast of the new campaign.

Entitled "Shall We Start Again?", GroundHop TV's McKenna and Heyes also feature in the podcast alongside a bumper line-up of regular guests including BBC Manchester's Ian Burke, 5Live's Swampy and Stewart James from the Non League Review as well as Jonny Crowther from Red Shift Radio on Nantwich Town's start to the season.

Fans of the podcast are being spoiled for choice this season with last weekend's release of the league's third official podcast, the new EVO-STIK NPL Division One Show.

As its name suggests, the monthly podcast focuses on the 44 clubs fighting it out for survival and promotion to the top flight and is timed to be released alongside the monthly EVO-STIK NPL Show.

After a month of managerial changes, the second edition of the show features another bumper line-up of guests alongside Hughes including Andrew Simpson from the Northwich Guardian, Knott FM's Robin Grey, Adam Lord at the Lancaster Guardian, Coalville Town's club secretary Steve Cartwright, Belper Town's press officer Sam Allsop and from Glossop North End, Hillmen Radio's Tim and Nick.

Produced as always by the team behind FCUM Radio and sponsored for the second season running by the NPL's title sponsors EVO-STIK, all three of the podcasts are available on both iTunes and Audioboom via the links below and since the start of this season, directly via their own button on the home page.
