Trophy draw made at Wembley!

By David Watters

The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's flag-bearers in the FA Trophy are eyeing up new opponents after the draw for the next round of the competition was made at Wembley at lunchtime.

Following their heroics over the weekend, 28 EVO-STIK NPL clubs were among the 85 clubs who went into the hat for FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round with the winners of the 36 ties scheduled to be played over the weekend of Saturday 14 November banking another £3250 in prize money to add the £5200 they will already have collected.

With the draw still made on a regional basis and National League clubs only entering in the latter rounds, all but seven of the EVO-STIK NPL's possible representatives will be facing familiar league foes after this week's replays are settled.

Premier Division Rushall Olympic and First Division North Burscough and Spennymoor Town won't be with all three clubs on their travels to EVO-STIK League Southern opponents, the Pics away to Leamington, the Linnets at Kettering and the Moors heading south to Evesham in what must surely be one of the longest trips of the round.

Nantwich Town or Belper Town will host former EVO-STIK NPL outfit King's Lynn Town while Ashton United or Ramsbottom United will entertain either Histon or Stratford Town from the EVO-STIK League Southern.
