Tuesday's First Division South action review

Evo-Stik Northern Premier League

It was a mixed night in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League with the only Premier Division fixture and all four scheduled games in the First Division North all falling foul of the weather, writes Pichero's Steve Whitney.

The 'balmier' climbs of the Evo-Stik First Division South clubs, however, saw all four of the division's games go ahead.

Coalville Town extended their advantage at the top of the table to fourteen points after beating Sheffield FC 3-1 at Owen Street. Cameron Stuart was the Ravens hero, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 13th, 27th and 77th minutes. Lee Cooksey sandwiched a reply for Club five minutes before half-time.

Fourth-placed King's Lynn Town moved to within four points of second-placed Stamford AFC with games in hand after beating Lincoln United 5-2 at The Walks.

But they had to come back from being a 34th minute Ben Garrick goal to win, courtesy of Danny Beaumont after 51 minutes, a brace from the returning Steve Spriggs on 53 and 65 minutes – the second from the penalty spot – Shane Tolley on 76 minutes and then Dan Quigley 10 minutes from time. As a late consolation, Josh Raby netted a second for the visitors a minute from time.

Elsewhere, a very early goal from Royce Turville earned Gresley FC a point after a much-improved performance at a soggy Moat Ground against Leek Town, whose Sam Hall levelled just before the break.

Under-achievers Chasetown secured a win against second-bottom Romulus by the odd goal in five at The Scholars. Tyron Amory gave Roms a 16th minute lead that Theo Robinson cancelled out after 32 minutes. Joel Purkiss then put the hosts ahead in the opening seconds of the second half.

Jonathan Gould made it 3-1 with 14 minutes remaining before Liam Francis' 85th minute reply for Roms meant a nervy end.
