King's Lynn Town moved to within four points of Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South leaders Coalville Town after beating mid-table Kidsgrove Athletic 3-1 at The Walks on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

George Thomson gave the Linnets a 27th minute lead that Jason Lee doubled ten minutes before half-time. Danny Beaumont added Lynn's third after 73 minutes, and although 'Grove reduced the deficit through Karl Espley six minutes later, the home side held firm to put pressure on the leaders.

The other Tuesday game saw Brigg Town's winless run extend to six matches after a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Sheffield FC at the Hawthorns.

Joel Purkiss gave Club the lead on the half-hour mark and then Jordan Eagers on 63 minutes, and Andy Gascoigne four minutes from time, completed a comfortable win.

Brigg have now drawn three and lost three of the last six games since a 3-2 win against Leek Town back on the 23 February.
