Michael Oates grabbed his twenty-eighth goal of the season to date to put Trafford ahead after 29 minutes. But Skem equalised within two minutes through Anthony Hickey. However, ten minutes from time, Nia Bayunu pounced to win it for the visitors.
Skem still have a healthy fifteen-point lead at the top of the table, however, while Trafford are sixth, but only two points behind second-placed Ramsbottom United.
The other Tuesday game to survive was not far away at Warrington Town, who went down to a 2-1 defeat to a Burscough side who are now only four points behind their hosts in mid-table.
Niall Cummins bagged a brace in the fifth and 67th minutes – the second from the penalty spot – to take his tally to 22 so far, with Jon Newby sandwiching the Wire's reply on 48 minutes.
