Sutton Coldfield Town moved four points clear at the top of the EVO-STIK League's First Division South table with a 1 w-0 win at Carlton Town on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

A second half goal from Reece Leek was enough to condemn Carlton to defeat against the unbeaten league leaders. Leek headed home a 62nd minute corner just minutes after Carlton's Alex Troke had headed against the crossbar in a pivotal part of the game.

Stafford Rangers moved into fourth place but had to settle for a point against neighbours Newcastle Town at Marston Road.

Castle took a 14th minute lead through Leon Ashman. And they held that lead until the 67th minute when Stanley Mugisha pulled Rangers back on terms. Elliott Osborne restored the visitors lead ten minutes from time but the hosts earned a valuable point in front of a good crowd of 438 when Liam Holt pounced five minutes from the end of normal time.

Chasetown moved up to ninth in the table after a 5-3 win against Market Drayton Town at The Scholars.

Michael O`Reilly gave the visitors an early third minute lead but an own goal from the unfortunate Calvin Haughton pulled the hosts back on level terms after 25 minutes. But the Shropshire outfit led 3-1 by the first minute of the second period after goals from Aidan Haughton and Joe Woolley.

Simon Brown reduced the deficit to one in the 56th minute and then Nathaniel Waite equalised just past the hour-mark. Brown then went on to complete his hat-trick with goals in the 64th and 87th minutes – both from the spot – to turn the game in the Scholars` favour.
