After seeing their lead cut at the top of the table cut to just one point by Halesowen Town on Monday night, Leek Town restored their four-point advantage with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Chasetown 24 hours later, writes Pithero's Steve Whitney.

The Scholars looked lively in the opening period but the home side took the lead after 27 minutes when Rhys Swetnam's pin-point cross fell perfectly for Andy Kinsey to volley home. The second goal finally came on 76 minutes when a cross from Kinsey broke loose and John Johnston was on hand net. The icing on the cake came in added time when Jordan Johnson shot home powerfully from the edge of the box for his 25th goal of the season to make it 3-0.

Seventh-placed Carlton Town slipped to a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle Town at the Lyme Valley Stadium.

It was not a good evening for the Millers, whose late arrival due to severe traffic problems in Nottingham meant kick-off was delayed by half-an-hour. Once the game got underway, Newcastle always looked the more threatening and James Askey opened the scoring on 18 minutes. The home side doubled their advantage five minutes after half-time when Tom France converted after new keeper Jonathon Viscosi had saved Jordan Cole's effort.

Scarborough Athletic moved up to ninth place in the table after a comprehensive 4-0 win against Brigg Town at Queensgate.

Brigg trailed 1-0 at the break after a 38th minute goal by the home side's Peter Davidson and were then further undone by a second half hat-trick by veteran Gary Bradshaw in the 62nd, 76th and 81st minutes – the third coming from the spot.

Tuesday's other game in the division saw bottom-markers Eastwood Town suffer a similar defeat at Loughborough Dynamo.

Nathan Watson gave the home side a 14th minute lead that Lee Morris added to just five minutes later. Morris scored his second and Dynamo's third nine minutes later and a real battering looked on the cards as Kris Nurse made it 4-0 with only 38 minutes gone on the clock. But a combination of the home side easing off and the Badgers battling saw no more goals come in the second period.
