Tuesday's Premier Division action review

Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division

Rushall Olympic produced an excellent performance to beat Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division leaders Chorley at Victory Park on Tuesday night - only the second time Chorley have lost at home all season, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Rushall took the game to their opponents and the only goal of the game came four minutes from time when Matty Wood got on the end of a Spink cross. The result moved Rushall a further place up the table into ninth with games in hand on most of the teams above them.

Two more play-off chasing teams were in action on Tuesday, with mixed results.

King's Lynn Town condemned bottom-markers Droylsden to the drop after a hard-fought 2-1 win at the Butcher`s Arms.

The Bloods, who haven’t won a game all season, certainly looked a lot better than in recent weeks and with their relegation fate now sealed, may now be a dangerous side to play.

The three-points did not come without a scare, however, as Droylsden took a shock lead into half-time when Sam Madeley scored on the half-hour mark. But Robin Fryatt equalised on 64 minutes and then Jake Jones saved Lynn's face with a winner six minutes later.

Ashton United, however, were beaten by another side in trouble at the opposite end of the table, Barwell. Luke Barlone scored the only goal of the game at Kirkby Road to give the Canaries a massive boost.

But the team immediately below them in the table, fourth-bottom Witton Albion, edged a Cheshire derby win by the odd goal in five against Nantwich Town at Wincham Park.

The returning Alex Titchiner proved to be Albion`s hero with a brace to give them a 2-0 lead with goals in the 14th and 32nd minutes. Josh Hancock then made it 3-0 just past the hour-mark, but the Dabbers gave the majority in the above average 301 crowd a scare when they pulled two back through Aaron Burns – the first a minute later and his second with 18 minuets remaining.
