The game at the Weaver Stadium brought in a crowd of 740 who witnessed a great advert for the EVO-STIK NPL.
However, the 1-1 draw maintained the status quo and the real winners on the night were leaders Blyth Spartans who now lead the table by four points with games in hand on the Dabbers.
It was the home side who struck first on the half-hour mark when Matty Kosylo won the ball in the middle of the park and spread it out wide to Darren Thornton. Salford failed to clear Thornton's cross and Matty Bell capitalised.
The Ammies equalised three minutes into the second half when Thornton turned villain in failing to clear a ball in the box and Gary Stopforth slotted home. Both sides had chances to win it after that but a draw was a fair outcome on the night between two decent teams.
Tuesday's other game saw Barwell, smashed 7-0 by Salford last Saturday, beaten 3-2 at Kirkby Road by a Rushall Olympic outfit who completed back-to-back wins to move above their Leicestershire hosts and into ninth place in the table.
Josh McKenzie broke the deadlock by giving the Pics the lead immediately after half-time. Two minutes later and Alex Reid doubled the visitors` lead.
But the Canaries battled back level through Anthony Carney after 79 mkinutes and then Luke Barlone two minutes later. However, against the run of play, Barwell were hit with a sucker punch as McKenzie grabbed the winner in stoppage time.
