Tuesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Altrincham opened up a three points lead at the top of the EVO-STIK League Premier's table on Tuesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Robins defeated Lancaster City 4-0, three of their goals coming late on after they went in at the break a goal up thanks to James Poole getting on the scoresheet. A Jordan Hulme header and strikes by Simon Richman and John Johnston then sealed the victory to move the Robins into top spot and extend their unbeaten run to 12 matches.

Elsewhere, Warrington Town weren’t able to keep pace as they lost 2-1 at Buxton who moved up to eighth in the table, goals from Liam Hardy and Anthony Wilson giving the hosts the win with Jamie McDonald scoring in between for Town.

And Farsley Celtic and Ashton United were involved in a six goal thriller at Throstle Nest with James Walshaw getting the hosts a point in added time.

The two teams are competing for play-off places and were involved in an entertaining contest. Ashton twice had two goal leads through a Matt Chadwick double and a Jack Dyche effort, Farsley fighting back with goals from Ben Atkinson with ten minutes to go and Adam Priestley before Walshaw grabbed Celtic a point.
