The Steelmen were honoured on Saturday with October's Northern Premier League Division One South Team of the Month award, chairman Steve Noble collecting the monthly accolade from EVO-STIK League representative Mark Ogley before kicking off in their 1-1 draw with Cleethorpes Town at Steel Park, pictured.
Named alongside Altrincham and Hyde United as one of the latest winners of the monthly accolades to recognise and reward the Northern Premier League's top performers during the competition's historic 50th anniversary season, the Steelmen were in the wrong half of the table when caretaker manager Steve Kinniburgh took charge before bagging four wins from four outings in October to climb away from trouble and up to sixth.
While dragging themselves clear, Corby Town also progressed in the Buildbase FA Trophy with a preliminary round victory at Romulus. Like all winners, Noble was presented with an engraved glass trophy and a bottle of spirits to celebrate their success with before the club bounced back from last weekend's first reverse under Kinniburgh at Frickley Athletic to come from behind and share the points in the third versus sixth encounter.
