Vacancy after keeping coach goes

Glossop North End are on the look out for a keeping coach on the eve of the new EVO-STIK Northern Premier League season.

The Hillmen launched the hunt for a successor to Darren Ford after other commitments forced him to stand down at The Arthur Goldthorpe Stadium this week.

Officials at the EVO-STIK NPL First Division North club say applicants of all abilities are welcome to apply for the role which will see the successful candidate working alongside manager Chris Willcock and his coaching team at the 2014-15 North West Counties League champions.

They'll get the opportunity to improve and grow their talents at a club often cited as the smallest town in England to have had a Football League representative when they played in the top flight at the turn of the 20th century. Bankrolled at the time by Sir Samuel Hill-Wood, who was later to become chairman of Arsenal, the Hillmen still retain connections with the Gunners to this day.

In a statement advertising for Ford's successor, the Hillmen paid tribute to their out-going coach. "We would like thank Darren for his invaluable work over the last three seasons which has helped Glossop North End get to our current position and we wish him the very best in the future," said the club.

"Applicants of all abilities are welcome to apply for this role. Working alongside the current management and coaching team, applicants will have the opportunity to improve and grow their talents."
