Vikings bring former skipper back

EVO-STIK League Goole AFC have welcomed former skipper Matty Bloor back to the Victoria Pleasure Grounds.

The Vikings announced the return of the influential midfielder, pictured, on Monday night via their official Twitter account @GooleAFC and website.

Now 27, Bloor kicked off his career at North Ferriby United, progressing through the ranks before joining Frickley Athletic in 2009. After moving between Westfield Lane and the Victoria Pleasure Grounds a number of times and captaining both clubs, he moved on to Scarborough Athletic for the 2015-16 season where he skippered the Seadogs and also took charge as caretaker manager for two games before the appointment of Steve Kittrick in January 2016.

Bloor could return to the Vikings line-up for the first time on Tuesday night when Karl Rose takes his side to Bamber Bridge in EVO-STIK League North following their 3-0 opening day home defeat at the hands of Glossop North End.
