Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division

AFC Fylde moved into the play-off places in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division on Wednesday night after acomprehensive 4-0 win at Whitby Town's Turnbull Ground, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The night's only Premier Division fixture saw the visiting Coasters take the lead at the mid-table Seasiders right on the half-time whistle – and it came courtesy of an own goal from Whitby's Alex White.

Adam Farrell made it 2-0 from the penalty spot on 57 minute to double the lead and Sean Cooke headed home a Mike Barnes cross from close range eight minutes later to make it virtually game over.

Farrell grabbed his second and Fylde's fourth 10 minutes from the end, getting in on the end of a poor back pass.

The Coasters now have games in hand on all above them, with Saturday's home game against second-placed Hednesford Town being the first of several 'six-pointers' before the end of the campaign.
