The only game in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's First Division South on Wednesday night saw Carlton Town surrender a two goal lead to lose 3-2 against play-off chasing Sutton Coldfield Town, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

The Millers got off to the perfect start with two goals in the opening 21 minutes. Dean Gent headed the home side into the lead on 11 minutes from Alex Troke's corner and Ruben Wiggins-Thomas doubled that advantage when he raced clear of the visitors' defence to slot home.

Luke Chapman pulled a goal back for the Royals within a minute when he took advantage of a slip by Corey Nightingale to score before both keepers made fine saves to keep the score at 2-1 at half-time.

Sutton equalised four minutes into the second half when substitute Luke Edwards converted from close range. Daryl Taylor then headed home the winner from Chapman's free-kick on 53 minutes to leave the Millers chasing the game. Dean Gent hit the post as Carlton pushed for an equaliser but despite that and further pressure, Sutton held on to maintain their challenge for a play-off spot.
