Wednesday's First South action review

By David Watters

Northwich Victoria doubled their win tally for the season to date after a 3-1 home success against second-bottom Kidsgrove Athletic in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League's First Division South on Wednesday night, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Jamie Hinchcliffe gave the Vics a 19th minute lead when he was sent through by Gyimah Yaw to beat the visiting keeper and score in the empty net.

It wasn`t until the hour-mark that Vics managed to double their lead, Hinchcliffe this time setting up Yaw to fire home. But soon afterwards they went down to ten-men when Daniel Cockerline was dismissed for a challenge on Krystian Burzynsk deemed reckless.

However, the ten-men made it 3-0 on 65 minutes with a second for Yaw after good work from Matty Clarke. Dan Turner reduced the deficit two minutes later but Vics held firm for a welcome second three-point haul of the 2016-17 season.
