Third-placed Witton made the relatively short trip down the M6 to the Potteries looking to put pressure on the top two, as they still possess plenty of games in hand.
Kidsgrove, meanwhile, were looking to maintain their good run which had seen them unbeaten in five games, moving them up to within six point of the play-off places.
But it didn`t look good for Grove as Witton hit them with two goals in a minute around the half-hour mark. The first came when Rob Hopley tapped it in from close range and then Danny Reynolds also scored from close range after home `keeper Chris Martin had parried the initial effort out.
The home side had a great chance to get back into the game seven minutes after the restart when they were awarded a penalty but Harry Clayton`s effort produced a fine save by Albion`s Cesare Vernazza.
Kidsgrove did manage to reduce the deficit in the 65th minute when, following a cross from Lee Pickerill, Anthony Malbon`s effort hit the bar before Clayton headed in the rebound.
Witton looked as though they were going to hold on for three important points but three minutes into stoppage time, Clayton climbed to head the ball into the top corner following a corner to salvage a draw.
