Wednesday's Premier Division action review

Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division

The only game in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League's Premier Division on Wednesday night between Buxton and Stamford AFC turned out to be a thriller for the 151 fans who chose to attend Silverlands over Champions League football on the television, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Buxton couldn't have got off to a worse start as they found themselves reduced to ten-men after only 10 minutes when they had Alastair Taylor sent-off for an alleged over the top tackle.

Stamford took the lead 10 minutes later with a scrambled effort from Alvin Jarvis and things got even worse for the home side four minutes later when Ryan Robbins doubled the Daniels' lead.

Crucially, Lee Morris managed to pull one back for the Bucks in the 36th minute and Stamford were taken by surprise by the ten-men in the second period, Buxton eventually equalising from the penalty spot through Morris with 14 minutes remaining.
