Wednesday's Premier Division action review

By David Watters

Matlock Town's caretaker manager David Hoole guided the Gladiators to a 0-0 draw with Storubridge in Wednesday night's only EVO-STIK League Premier Division fixture, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Appointed on Monday following the departure of joint bosses Craig Hopkins and Glenn Kirkwood, Hoole took charge at the DCJ Group Arena against a Stourbridge side for whom this was a third game in five days.

A fairly uneventful first half was followed by a much more lively second in which either side could have taken all three points. And midway through the half, the 242 crowd witnessed arguably the best save seen in the stadium this season when the Glassboys stopper Matt Gould made a fantastic tip-over to prevent a Michael Williams header from breaking the deadlock.
