Widnes FC part company with Dave Dempsey

Widnes FC have parted company with manager Dave Dempsey after little over a year in charge.

Dempsey departs the club with immediate effect, with the Whites currently second-bottom in the Pitching In NPL West Division and winless after their opening five league matches.

During his time in charge, Dempsey has recorded 15 wins from 43 games as manager – a 35% win ratio.

On the decision to part company, chairman Ian Ross said: “I would like to thank Dave and his staff for their hard work and commitment over the last 12 months.

“Dave has been a credit, both on and off the pitch, respected by players, staff and volunteers throughout our entire football club.

‘However, after holding amicable discussions in light of recent results and performances, all parties have come to an agreement that a change is required to move forward.

“On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish Dave and his staff every success for the future.”
