After guiding the Blades to 1-1 draw with Millwall in the Championship on Saturday, the 50-year-old former Non-League boss is the guest of honour at the seventh running of the unique annual awards as the Northern Premier League celebrates its 50th anniversary season.
A 'Player of the Year' and 'Young Player of Year' in each of the NPL’s three divisions as well three ‘Teams of the Year’ and the 'EVO-STIK NPL Show Fans’ Player of the Year’ will be honoured by the former Alfreton, Halifax town, Oxford United and Northampton boss at the plush Brooklands Holiday Inn near Barnsley.
Set to be broadcast live on Facebook for the second year running, the event will also see the next generation of stars coming through the Northern Premier League Football Academy recognised on stage for the third time since the awards were first held in 2012.
Originally the brainchild of former Manchester City keeper and NPL stalwart Alan Ogley, the ceremony is still unique in the top levels of Non-League Football with the spotlight on the competition's star players after the winners are chosen by their managers and fans.
Sunday night's awards will also the NPL unveil its 'Top 100 Players of all time' and 'Team of All Time' as part of the competition's NPL50 celebrations this season.
