Wilson commits to Ashton

Ashton United have announced that their top scorer from last season, Josh Wilson, has agreed a deal for 2020/21.

Wilson, 31, joined from Chorley last summer and previously played in the National League for Telford, Fylde, Halifax and Guiseley.

Manager Michael Clegg said: “Josh was brilliant for us from day one. Thats why we named him as captain. We have an exciting season ahead and it was critical that he stayed.

“He is fantastic with the younger players and above all of that, his performances towards the end of the season were great.”
